Continuing my collaged watercolor series, I seek to explore the variety of colors and feelings that can be evoked by combining bits of watercolor "splotches" in a meaning way, but not repetitive nor formulaic, seeking to allow the eye to wander without settling on any one particular area and allowing the seeing brain to enjoy looking without settling on any one meaning or interpretation of the image. The variation in value and hue creates depth in the push and pull of bright colors with duller colors. The piece comes alive in the viewing of it from a distance and in the curiosity of the viewer to examine the individual pieces up close. It is macro and micro.
Materials: Watercolor on paper, collaged onto archival mat board.
